Sahih Muslim 4275
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ رُفَيْعٍ - عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، قَالَ جَاءَ سَائِلٌ إِلَى عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ فَسَأَلَهُ نَفَقَةً فِي ثَمَنِ خَادِمٍ أَوْ فِي بَعْضِ ثَمَنِ خَادِمٍ . فَقَالَ لَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا أُعْطِيكَ إِلاَّ دِرْعِي وَمِغْفَرِي فَأَكْتُبُ إِلَى أَهْلِي أَنْ يُعْطُوكَهَا . قَالَ فَلَمْ يَرْضَ فَغَضِبَ عَدِيٌّ فَقَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لاَ أُعْطِيكَ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ رَضِيَ فَقَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَوْلاَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ ثُمَّ رَأَى أَتْقَى لِلَّهِ مِنْهَا فَلْيَأْتِ التَّقْوَى " . مَا حَنَّثْتُ يَمِينِي .
Traduction
Rapporté par Tamim ibn Tarafa : Un mendiant est venu voir ‘Adi ibn Hatim et lui a demandé le prix d’un esclave, ou une partie de ce prix. ‘Adi a répondu : « Je n’ai rien à te donner sauf ma cotte de mailles et mon casque. Je vais cependant écrire à ma famille pour qu’on te les donne. » Mais le mendiant n’a pas accepté. ‘Adi s’est alors énervé et a dit : « Par Allah, je ne te donnerai rien. » Finalement, l’homme a accepté, et ‘Adi a dit : « Par Allah, si je n’avais pas entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : “Celui qui fait un serment et trouve ensuite quelque chose de plus pieux aux yeux d’Allah, qu’il fasse ce qui est plus pieux”, je n’aurais pas rompu mon serment pour te donner quoi que ce soit. »
