Sahih Muslim 4949
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شَمَاسَةَ، أَنَّ فُقَيْمًا اللَّخْمِيَّ، قَالَ لِعُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ تَخْتَلِفُ بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ الْغَرَضَيْنِ وَأَنْتَ كَبِيرٌ يَشُقُّ عَلَيْكَ . قَالَ عُقْبَةُ لَوْلاَ كَلاَمٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَمْ أُعَانِهِ . قَالَ الْحَارِثُ فَقُلْتُ لاِبْنِ شُمَاسَةَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ قَالَ " مَنْ عَلِمَ الرَّمْىَ ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا أَوْ قَدْ عَصَى " .
Terjemahan
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin Rumh bin Al Muhajir] telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Al Laits] dari [Al Harits bin Ya'qub] dari [Abdurrahman bin Syimamah] bahwa Fuqaim Al Lakhmi berkata kepada ['Uqbah bin 'Amir], "Kamu selalu bersungguh-sungguh antara dua target ini sedangkan kamu telah lanjut usia dan telah berat (sudah lemah)." 'Uqbah berkata, "Seandainya saya pernah mendengar sabda Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam niscaya saya tidak akan menjaganya." Lantas saya bertanya kepada Ibnu Syamasah, "Apa yang disabdakan beliau itu?" dia menjawab, "Beliau bersabda: "Tidak termasuk dari golongan kami -atau dia telah durhaka- siapa saja yang mengetahui ilmu memanah namun ia meninggalkannya
