Witr Prayer
Sahih al-Bukhari 990
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الصُّبْحَ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً، تُوتِرُ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى ".
Translation
Telah menceritakan kepada kami ['Abdullah bin Yusuf] berkata, telah mengabarkan kepada kami [Malik] dari [Nafi'] dan ['Abdullah bin Dinar] dari [Ibnu 'Umar], bahwa ada seseorang bertanya kepada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam tentang shalat malam. Maka Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Shalat malam itu dua rakaat dua rakaat. Jika salah seorang dari kalian khawatir akan masuk waktu shubuh, hendaklah ia shalat satu rakaat sebagai witir (penutup) bagi shalat yang telah dilaksanakan sebelumnya." Dan dari Nafi' bahwa 'Abdullah bin 'Umar memberi salam di antara satu rakaat dan dua rakaat witir hingga dia menuntaskan sebagian keperluannya
