Sahih Muslim 5401
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَأَى حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ فَلَبِسْتَهَا لِلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلِلْوَفْدِ إِذَا قَدِمُوا عَلَيْكَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ " . ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْهَا حُلَلٌ فَأَعْطَى عُمَرَ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَسَوْتَنِيهَا وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا " . فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ مُشْرِكًا بِمَكَّةَ .
Translation
Rapporté par Ibn Umar : Omar ibn al-Khattab vit quelqu’un vendre des vêtements en soie à la porte de la mosquée. Il dit alors : « Ô Messager d’Allah, si seulement tu l’achetais pour le porter devant les gens le vendredi et lors de la réception des délégations ! » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ répondit : « Celui qui porte cela n’aura aucune part (de récompense) dans l’au-delà. » Plus tard, ces vêtements furent envoyés au Messager d’Allah ﷺ, qui en offrit un à Omar. Omar dit alors : « Tu veux que je porte ce vêtement alors que tu as dit ce que tu as dit à propos du vêtement de soie d’Utarid (celui qui le vendait à la porte de la mosquée) ? » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ répondit : « Je ne te l’ai pas donné pour que tu le portes, mais pour que tu utilises sa valeur. » Omar l’offrit alors à son frère polythéiste à La Mecque
