Sahih Muslim 4713
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ حَضَرْتُ أَبِي حِينَ أُصِيبَ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهِ وَقَالُوا جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا . فَقَالَ رَاغِبٌ وَرَاهِبٌ قَالُوا اسْتَخْلِفْ فَقَالَ أَتَحَمَّلُ أَمْرَكُمْ حَيًّا وَمَيِّتًا لَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّ حَظِّي مِنْهَا الْكَفَافُ لاَ عَلَىَّ وَلاَ لِي فَإِنْ أَسْتَخْلِفْ فَقَدِ اسْتَخْلَفَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي - يَعْنِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ - وَإِنْ أَتْرُكْكُمْ فَقَدْ تَرَكَكُمْ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ حِينَ ذَكَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَيْرُ مُسْتَخْلِفٍ .
Traduction
Rapporté par Abdullah ibn ‘Umar : J’étais présent auprès de mon père quand il a été blessé. Les gens l’ont félicité et ont dit : « Qu’Allah te récompense noblement ! » Il a dit : « J’espère la miséricorde d’Allah, mais je crains aussi Sa colère. » Les gens ont dit : « Nomme quelqu’un comme successeur. » Il a répondu : « Devrais-je porter la charge de vos affaires de mon vivant et après ma mort ? (En ce qui concerne le califat), j’aimerais pouvoir me présenter devant Allah sans rien à mon actif, ni en bien ni en mal. Si je devais nommer un successeur, c’est parce que quelqu’un de meilleur que moi l’a fait (il voulait parler d’Abu Bakr). Si je vous laisse sans successeur, c’est parce que quelqu’un de meilleur que moi, c’est-à-dire le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, l’a fait. » Abdullah dit : Quand il a mentionné le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, j’ai compris qu’il ne nommerait personne comme calife
