Sahih Muslim 2154 — Book 11, Hadith 32

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَرْفَعُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَتْ وَهَلَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّهُ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِخَطِيئَتِهِ أَوْ بِذَنْبِهِ وَإِنَّ أَهْلَهُ لَيَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهِ الآنَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَذَاكَ مِثْلُ قَوْلِهِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَامَ عَلَى الْقَلِيبِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَفِيهِ قَتْلَى بَدْرٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ مَا قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَسْمَعُونَ مَا أَقُولُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ وَهَلَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ مَا كُنْتُ أَقُولُ لَهُمْ حَقٌّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ ‏{‏ إِنَّكَ لاَ تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى‏}‏ ‏{‏ وَمَا أَنْتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُورِ‏}‏ يَقُولُ حِينَ تَبَوَّءُوا مَقَاعِدَهُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ‏.‏

Traduction

Rapporté par Hisham, d’après son père : On rapporta à ‘Aïcha qu’Ibn ‘Umar avait transmis comme hadith attribué au Messager d’Allah ﷺ que le défunt serait puni dans la tombe à cause des lamentations de sa famille sur lui. Elle répondit : « Il s’est trompé. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a en fait dit : “Il est puni pour ses fautes ou ses péchés, et sa famille pleure sur lui maintenant.” (Cette confusion d’Ibn ‘Umar est semblable à sa parole : ) Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ s’est tenu près du puits où gisaient les corps des polythéistes tués le jour de Badr, et il leur a dit ce qu’il avait à dire, c’est-à-dire : “Ils entendent ce que je dis.” Mais il s’est trompé : le Prophète ﷺ a seulement dit : “Ils comprennent que ce que je leur disais était vrai.” » Elle récita ensuite : « Tu ne peux pas faire entendre les morts » (Coran 27:80), ni faire entendre ceux qui sont dans les tombes, ni les informer quand ils sont en Enfer
