When at Mount Safa and Mount Marwah

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كَلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

Transliteration

laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu, anjaza wa‛dahu, wa naṣara ‛abdahu, wa hazam-al-’aḥzaaba waḥdah

Translation

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant and single-handedly defeated the allies.

Notes

Recite this at Mount Safa and Mount Marwah. Whenever the Prophet (SAW) approached Mount Safa, he would recite: Innas-Safaa wal-Marwata ... Then he started to climb Mount Safa until he could see the House. He then faced the Qiblah repeating these words: Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaah, Allaahu 'Akbar Then he said: Laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wahdahu ... And then he would ask Allah for what he liked, repeating the same thing like this three times. He did this at Mount Marwah as well.

Takbeer when passing the black stone

اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ

Allah is the Most Great!

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 1613

Upon reaching the Yemeni corner during Tawaf

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا فِی الدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَۃً وَّ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ حَسَنَۃً وَّ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!

For reciting at Al-Mash'ar Al-Haraam (Muzdalifah)

اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ، اَللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ، لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّاۤ اللّٰہُ

Allah is the Most Great. Allah is One. There is none worthy of worship but Allah.

اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ

Allah is the Most Great!

At Arafat

بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ، اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ

With the Name of Allah, Allah is the Most Great

While going to Mount Safa

اِنَّ الصَّفَا وَ الۡمَرۡوَۃَ مِنۡ شَعَآئِرِ اللّٰہِ

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.

When given a drink

اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي وَأَسْقِ مَنْ أَسْقَانِي

O Allah! Feed him who fed me and give him drink who gave me to drink.
